Lord appoints Jeremiah Prophet (Jeremiah 1:1-5) 1. Time, Place and Rulers of Jeremiah’s prophecy (1:1-3)  - Territory of Benjamin  - 13th year of King Josiah through Zedekiah king of Judah  - to Jerusalem’s exile 2. Jeremiah set apart in the womb; (1:3-5)  - Formed by God  - Set apart before born  - Appoint a prophet to nations.

Words of Lord come to Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:6-16) 1. Jeremiah said to Lord that he was too young (6) 2. Instruction to say whatever God commands – God is with you and rescues (7-8) 3. Lord touches Jeremiah’s mouth and appoints over nations to tear down and build up (9-10) 4. Lord encourages Jeremiah to “Stand Firm in Lord”; the Lord will rescue (Jeremiah 1:17-19) 1. Get ready, say what Lord commands; don’t be terrified (17) 2. God has made you (Jeremiah) strong against the whole land (18) 3. They will come against you but will not overcome you. God is with you and will rescue (19)

Lord’s Plan (3:6-13)  - Gather lame; His remnant  - Rescue and redeem from enemies  - Break the nations and bring wealth to Lord 3. Ruler from Bethlehem; origins from ancient times (4:1-3) 4. Ruler will bring peace and gather remnant (4:4-9) 5. Ruler will triumph over enemies and destroy evil (4:10-15)

Micah – Laments judgment and describes God’s Mercy (Micah 6-7) 1. Lord’s accusation and requirement (6:1-8) - Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God 2. Dishonest practices (6:9-12) - Ill-gotten treasures, false scales and lies 3. Destruction because of sins (6:13-16) 4. Time of judgment has come; a time of confusion and distrust (7:1-6) 6. Hope is in the Lord; He is my light and enemies will see it (7:7-13) 7. God is faithful to His promises; He forgives and pardons (7:14-20)

Isaiah 49-57
