God’s glory in Jesus – Going where disciples can’t follow.  (John 13:31-38)

1. Jesus glorified in God and God in Him (31-32)

2. Jesus tells disciples “His is here only a little longer” and “you can’t come” (33)

4. Peter asks “where are you going and why can follow now”; Jesus responds “later” (36-37a)

Jesus the Way - Rest assured Jesus going to prepare a place for us.  (John 14:1-7)

3. Jesus tells the disciples… “you know the place I am going” (4)

4. Thomas says “we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way (5)

5. Jesus answers saying “I am the way, truth and life, No one comes to the Father except through me” (6)

6. Jesus then says “if you know me you know the Father”. “From now on you know and seen Him (7)

Seeing Jesus is seeing the Father - Call for Belief (John 14:8-14)

1. Philip asks “Show us the Father; that’s enough for us (8)

2. Jesus answers “anyone who sees me has seen the Father”, how can you ask? (9)

3. Jesus then asks Philip “Don’t you believe I am in the Father, and He in me”? (10a)

4. Jesus tells Philip, I speak with Father’s authority, I am doing His work (10b)

5. Jesus ask Philip to believe, believe the evidence of works themselves (11)

6. Jesus says the truth is “whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing”. (12)

7. Jesus declares “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified.” (13-14)

Gospel of John - John 13:1-30

Jesus humbles himself washing disciple’s feet – Servanthood example (John 13:1-17)

1. Hour had come loving Jesus own (1)

2. Evening meal and scene set for Jesus’ return to Father (2-3)

3. Jesus washes washed feet and dries feet (4-5)  

4. When Jesus came to Peter; Peter objects and Jesus responds unless I wash you have no part of me (6-8)

5. Peter ask for hands and head, Jesus instructs that only feet need washing, but not all are clean (9-11)

6. Jesus returns to table asking if disciples understand what was done with instruction to wash each other’s feet (12-14)

7. Jesus then tells He has set example; no servant is greater than master. (15-16)

8. Jesus shares now that you know, your blessings are in doing (17)

2. Jesus tells so when disciples see it they will believe who I am (19)

1. Bethany dinner Mary lavishly anoints Jesus with expensive perfume (1-3)

4. Large crowd forms to see Jesus and Lazarus; chief priest plot to kill both because of Jewish belief (9-11)
