Empty Tomb found by women (Matthew 28:1-7)

a. Mary Magdalene and Mary  go to the tomb on the first day of the week (1)

b. Violent earthquake and angel rolls back the stone causing guards to fear (2-4)

c. Angel says to women “Jesus is not here He has risen” and see the empty tomb (5-6)

d. Women are instructed to tell disciples of resurrected Jesus and for disciples to go to Galilee to see him. (7)

(First “go” – Tell Disciples of risen Jesus)

Women See Resurrected Jesus while guards report an Empty Tomb (Matthew 28:8-15)

a. Women hurry away filled with Joy (8)

b. Women meet Jesus, gasp His feet and worship Him (9)

c. Jesus calms them and instructs the women to go and tell brothers to go to Galilee to see Him (10)

d. At the same time guards report what had occurred (11)

e. Chief priest and elders devise a disinformation plan; the lie… “disciples came and stole the body”

f. Soldiers took bribes and circulated the false narrative. (12-15)

Jesus commissions Disciples to go, tell and make followers of all nations. (Matthew 28:16-20)

a. Eleven go to Galilee see and worship risen Jesus; some doubted   (16-17)

b. Jesus shares with disciples His authority in heaven and earth (18)

c. Jesus commissions disciples to Go make disciples in all nations, baptizing in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; teaching to obey everything I commanded you (19-20a)

d. Jesus reminds them that He is with them always to the end of the age (20b)

Matthew 27:32-66

c. Priest and Pharisee ask Pilate for guards at the tomb to prevent someone stealing Jesus’ body (62-64)

d. Pilate secures tomb posting the guard (65-66)

Matthew 26:47-27:31
