Isaiah 49-57

Lord tells of redeemer and salvation (Isaiah 49-52:12)

1. Call to listen and hear what Lord says – the Holy one of Israel has chosen you (49:1-7)

2. In time the Lord will answer and have compassion His children – then all mankind will know the Lord is Savior and Redeemer (49:8-26)

3. Sovereign Lord response to sin (exile) and servant’s call to rely on Him (50)

a. Because of sins you were sent away (50:1)

Lord describes suffering Servant (Isaiah 52:13-53:12)

1. The servant – High and lifted up and highly exalted. (52:13-53:2)

2. Suffering servant – despised, pierced, oppressed and suffered bearing the sins of many making intercession for us (53:3-12)

 

Lord’s invitation to leave wickedness and come with contrite heart and take refuge in Him (Isaiah 53:13-57:21)

1. Lord redeems and has compassion and vindicates servants of the Lord (54)

2. Lord call to come and seek the Lord while He may be found (55:1-6)

3. Word of the Lord will not return empty (55:7-13)

 4. Lord’s instructions for righteousness with salvation and an everlasting name (56:1-8)

5. Lord’s inditement of Israel… blind, no ambition, no understanding, seek their own gain and seek their own pleasure. (56:9-12)

6. Lord calls out pagan sorceress, idols and practices; these will be exposed and carried away. (57:1-13)
