Angel announces Babylon’s Judgment (Earth illuminated with heaven’s splendor) (Revelation 18:1-8) 1. Angel with great authority coming down from heaven illuminates earth with his splendor. (1) 2. Angel with mighty voice shouts (2-3) a. Fallen, Fallen Babylon the great b. She is a dwelling for demons, haunt for unclean bird, and detestable animal c. All nations have drunk wine of her adulteries. d. Kings of the earth committed adultery with her. 3. 2nd voice from heaven said (4-8) a. Come out of her my people that you will not receive plagues for sins and God remembered crimes (4-5) b. Give back as she has double what she has done from her own cup (6) c. Give her torment and grief as glory and luxury her gave herself d. One day plagues will bring death, mourning, famine and consuming fire (7-8)

Powerful, Important and Wealthy Weep and Mourn (Loss recognized) (Kings, Merchants and Sea Captains) (Revelation 18:9-19) 1. Kings who shared adultery and luxury will be terrified at torment and standing far off cry. (9-10) 2. Merchants will weep and mourn and stand far off cry because luxury and splendor vanished (11-17a) 3. Sea Captain, sailors all who earn living by sea and became rich will stand far off and cry (17b-19)

Angel throws boulder of Judgment into sea (Never Again) (Revelation 18:20-24) 1. Call to rejoice in God’s judgment (20) 2. Mighty angel throws boulder in sea saying about Babylon (21-23a) a. Babylon will be thrown never to be found again. b. Music not heard again c. No work of any tray found in you again d. Sound of milestone heard in you again e. Light of lamp never shine in you again f. Voice of bridegroom and bride never heard in you again.    3. Merchants and nations were important but lead astray by magic spell (23b) 4. In her was found blood of prophets and God’s holy people who were slaughtered (24)
