1. Lamb opened first of seven seals with voice of living creature saying “come” (6:1)

2. Looking before John is white horse with a rider holding bow; given a crown and rode out to conquest (6:2)

4. A fiery red horse comes out with rider given: (6:4)

Slain Martyrs request Divine Justice (Revelation 6:9-11)

1. Fifth seal opened and under the alter were the souls slain because of the word of God and testimony they maintained (6:9)

2. Slain souls called out “how long until God judges the earth and avenge our blood (6:10)

3. Each was given white robe and told to wait a little longer (6:11a)

4. Wait until the full number of fellow servants (brothers and sisters) were killed just as they had been (6:11b)

 

 

Unbelievers fear at Signs of Calamity (Revelation 6:12-17)

1. Sixth seal opened with: (6:12-14)

a. Great earthquake,

b. Sun turned black   

c. Moon turned red,

d. Stars fell to earth

e. Heaven receded like a scroll rolled up

f.  Every mountain and island removed from its place

2. Then kings of earth, princes, generals, rich, mighty and everyone else (slave and free) hid in caves and among rocks of mountains (6:15)

3. They called out to mountains and rocks to fall on them and hide from: (6:16)

a. The one who sits on the throne

b. From the wrath of the Lamb

4. Great day of their wrath; who can withstand it (6:17)

Day of the Lord – Description and Warning

 (Joel 1:1-2:27)

1. Hear and Listen and tell to your children (1:1-4)

2. Wake up, you drunkards and weep, wine has been snatched from you lips (1:5-10)

3. Despair you farmers your fields are destroyed – Joy is gone (1:11-13)

4. Declare and holy fast, summon elders and cry out to Lord (1:14-20)

5. Blow a trumpet and sound alarm letting all know day of the Lord is coming (2:1-10)

4. Fortunes will be restored and judgment of the nations (3:1-6)

5. Rouse His people and will punish you and descendants (3:7-8)

7. Day of Lord is near in valley of decision – God will roar and be refuge for His people (3:14-16)

8. Knowledge the Lord is God and dwells in Zion (3:17-19)

9. Judah will be inhabited forever… Lord dwells in Zion (3:20-21)

Day of the Lord – Reminder and Call to Holiness (2 Peter 3)

1. Wholesome thinking reminder (1-2)

2. Scoffers will come and challenge God’s word (3-7)

3. Remember God’s timing is not yours… He is patient not wanting anyone to perish (8-9)

4. Day of the Lord will come unexpectedly and lay bare everything (10)

Revelation 5

Scroll and Worthy One to unseal.

 (Revelation 5:1-5)

1. John sees in the right hand of the one on the throne a scroll with 7 seals (1)

2. Mighty angel proclaiming loudly “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” (2)

3. No one in heaven, earth or under could open it and see the contents (3)

4. John weeps because no one was found worthy of opening scroll to see inside (4)

5. One of the elders said don’t weep the Lion of Judah is able to open the scroll and its 7 seals (5)

 

 

Lamb takes scroll and New Song saying Worthy (Revelation 5:6-10)

1. John sees the Lamb, looking as if slain standing in the center of the throne. (6a)

a. Encircled by four living creatures and the elders (6b)

b. Lamb had 7 horns and 7 eyes which are 7 spirits of God sent out to all the earth (6c)  

2. He took the scroll from the one on the throne (7)

3. When he took it the 4 living creatures and 24 elders fell before the Lamb. (8)

a. Each had a harp (8b)

b. Holding golden bowls of incense [prayer of the people] (8c)

4. A new song was sung… Worthy because you were slain, you made persons from every tribe, language, people and nation a kingdom to serve God (9-10)

Voices of Angels and then All creation saying Worthy (Revelation 5:11-14)

1. John looks and hears voice of many angels; thousands and thousands and they encircled throne, creatures and elders (11)

2. In loud voice they say “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise (12)

3. Then every creature in heaven, earth, under earth and sea say “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory and power forever and ever”. (130

4. Four living creatures say “Amen” and elders fell down and worshiped (14)
