Jesus knows hearts, heals, calling for Matthew to “follow” while describing His desire for mercy to sinners (Matthew 9:1-13)

a. Paralyzed Man brought by men to Jesus for healing – Faith of men seen and Jesus forgives sins bringing healing. (1-2)

b. Teachers of law say Jesus blaspheming – Jesus challenges their hearts. (3-5)

c. Jesus declares His authority to forgive sins – tells paralyzed man to get up and walk; crowd amazed at Jesus authority (6-8)

d. Jesus sees tax collector Matthew and says “follow me”  (9)

e. At dinner with Matthew, Pharisees ask disciples why Jesus eats with sinners (10-11)

f. Jesus responds to questions with His desire for mercy and His coming for sinners (12-13)

b. Jesus answers  - no mourning when Bridegroom with them, but when He is taken it will be time to fast (15)

Jesus, responds to  pleas for healing, the results amaze  (Matthew 9:18-34)

a. Synagogue leader requests Jesus come, put a hand on her for her life (18-19)

b. A woman in faith desired to touch Jesus cloak so she would be healed; Jesus sees her faith and she was instantaneously healed. (20-22)

c. Jesus enters synagogue leaders home, puts crowd outside and takes girl by hand and she got up  (23-26)

d. Two blind men approach Jesus for sight. (27-31)

 - Jesus asked, “do you believe”? Yes

 - Jesus touch their eyes and sight restored

 - Jesus admonished former blind men not to tell, but they spread the news

e. Demon-possessed man who could not talk brought to Jesus; Jesus drives out demon and man spoke amazing people. (32-33)

f. Pharisee call Jesus prince of demons (34)
