Joseph faithful to master as he tempted by Potiphar’s wife and imprisoned (Genesis 39:7-20) a. Master’s wife took notice of Joseph asking him to go to bed with her (7) b. Joseph refuses; indicating it would be a wicked and sinful thing against God  (8-9) c. Joseph daily refuses Potiphar’s wife requests  (10) d. Joseph caught by cloak by Potiphar’s wife but Joseph flees (11-12) e. Potiphar’s wife calls servants and tells false story about Joseph (13-15) f. Potiphar returns home and wife repeat false story of Joseph to him (16-18) g. Master hearing story burned with anger putting Joseph in prison. (19-20)

Pharoah’s cupbearer and baker placed in prison assigned to Joseph (40:1-4a) c. Each had a dream with separate meaning (4b-5) d. Joseph comes asks about them; saying interpretations belong to God. (6-9) e. Cupbearer tells dream and Joseph interprets favorable meaning; asking to be remembered (10-15) f. Baker tells dream and Joseph interprets fatal results  (16-19) g. Pharoah’s birthday 3 days later interpretation comes true (20-22) h. Cupbearer does not remember Joseph (23)

Joseph’s dream with family response (Genesis 37:1-11) a.  Joseph gives bad report of brother (the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah) (1-2) b. Israel loved Joseph and made ornate robe; his brother hated him (3-4) c. Joseph has dream; telling brother they would bow down to him  (6-9) e. Joseph tells father of dream bringing rebuke (10-11)

Joseph’s brothers plot; then sell him (Genesis 37:12-36) a. Joseph sent to check on brothers at Shechem (12-14) b. Joseph asks whereabouts of brothers (15-17) c.
